If you or your partner get irritated or itchy when using normal latex condoms, latex-free condoms could help stop this, and latex-free condoms that are extra thin may help increase your pleasure.
If the condoms you use are too loose, but you have itchiness or irritation when using normal latex condoms, it is better for you to use the narrowest latex-free condom, rather than use a latex condom that may fit better but causes an allergic reaction.
All kite marked condoms are safe for penetrative sex.
Most condom brands provide different ranges of materials, thicknesses and sizes. Non-latex condoms only come in regular and large sizes. Some condoms have ribbed or raised surfaces designed to increase pleasure.
To avoid the condom breaking or slipping off:
· Use only water or silicon-based lubricant and apply more if needed during sex. Do not use saliva as a lubricant.
· Do not put lubricant under the condom when you put it on and be aware that if the condom doesn't fit tightly, it could slip off.
· Do not unroll the condom before you put it on.
· Pinch the teat on the end of the condom to keep the air out as you put it on.
· Renew/replace the condom if penetration/sex lasts longer than around 30 minutes.
