Open-access HIV treatment centre offering routine follow up care as well as a wide range of general HIV outpatient clinics and a number of specialist clinics, including referral to: dermatology, gastroenterology, psychology, opthalmology, young persons clinic, over fifties, smoking cessation and more.

Rapid review clinic (emergency/drop-in clinic)

Clinical team that provides help with urgent problems related, or possibly related to HIV. If a problem is unrelated to HIV, advice can be given on the best way to have the issues assessed. Located: 2nd Floor, Lift Bank C, main Hospital building. The telephone triage service will be open from Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri 8:30am–2pm, and Wed, 10am–2pm—the nurse will assess your symptoms and advise accordingly

If required, you will be booked into an urgent same day appointment—appointments are from 9:30am–1:30pm.

An urgent appointment with your own clinic doctor or nurse (or another doctor in your team) can be arranged if more appropriate

The Kobler Day Care Unit offers booked and emergency appointments to HIV positive patients who may require admission to hospital or who require treatment or need further investigations. Patients are referred from their routine HIV outpatient clinic or from the emergency drop-in service in the Kobler Clinic. The unit provides the only specific HIV oncology service in the UK and cares for patients with both HIV- and non-HIV-related cancers. Chemotherapy clinics operate twice weekly.The Kobler Day Care Unit also provides care for TB-HIV co-infected patients comprising a weekly TB clinic, directly observed TB therapy (DOT) and negative pressure facilities. A Newfill service for the correction of facial lipoatrophy is also provided.
